The population in the city of Menifee is increasing at a steady rate. Once seen as a small town, it is slowly becoming a top place to live in the Inland Empire. Houses are being sold at a lower rate compared to neighboring cities such as Murrieta and Temecula and have quite a bit to offer with city life as well. With new construction beginning for new housing and fresh environments, Menifee looks to be a top town to live in.
A main reason Menifee is drawing in so many residents is its low housing costs. Now, houses are more affordable for a family compared to Murrieta and Temecula. The article Sleepy California boomtown where homes are half-price – and the biggest complaint is too much sun by Laura Parnaby shows the average price of a Menifee home is $535,000. “The average home price in the Inland Empire fell 2.5 percent between February 2023 and 2024 to $535,000 – compared to a steep $1.2 million in Los Angeles.” These prices are more affordable than big cities and are less crowded making it easier to get around and experience all the Menifee has to offer. I asked new Menifee home buyer Erika Provence how she likes the new housing and lower cost. “This house is great; me and my family moved here in the fall of 2023 and have loved it ever since. There are great parks and amazing schools for my kid to attend and learn at.” With new houses already being worked on, you can guarantee plenty more happy residents.
Menifee features many parks and recreational places such as Quartz Ranch Park, with construction completed in early 2024, and Audey Murphy Park will soon be upgraded with better soccer fields and baseball fields. I was able to talk to and interview construction worker Mike Pavelski, who is currently helping build and renovate this park for families to enjoy. “Our goal is to make these parks not only look nice but also to make them enjoyable for everyone to enjoy and have a place they can come to either play some sports or have fun with family and friends.” This park is looking to be finished by the end of this year and are getting worked on as fast as possible to bring new and refreshing enjoyment for all Menifee residents.
There are many big-name stores and restaurants in Menifee for all to enjoy. Restaurants such as Buffalo Wild Wings, BJ’s, Red Robin, and many others offer great variety for people to enjoy and relax at. If you need simple things such as clothes and entertainment, stores like Target, Kohl’s, and Best Buy will have everything you need to. Menifee has a bright future for these residents as they look to grow their city, establish themselves as a top place to live, and create new memories. The population is only going to grow, and as more people move in, more opportunities for businesses and events will arise for all to experience and enjoy.
