MSJC Communication Club Member Rob interviews Trinity Martinez, one of our upcoming TEDx MSJC speakers, to gain insight into her background and focus for his presentation, “How Failing Made Me Stronger: My Journey to Reconnection.”
Here’s the description from MSJC’s TEDx page:
How Failing Made Me Stronger: My Journey to Reconnection
In this personal narrative, I reflect on my journey from academic dismissal at UC Merced to finding my way back stronger. Struggling with isolation, homesickness, and pressure, I initially lost my connection to myself and my goals. After facing the consequences of my actions, I redirected my focus toward things that are meaningful to me. I enrolled in MSJC to work my way back toward university, got a job as my first step toward healthcare, and started a small business to bring joy to children. Through self-reflection, I’ve learned that failure is not defining, but my commitment to growth and reconnection is. I’m now ready to return to UC Merced, stronger both academically and personally.
Trinity Martinez is a dedicated biology student at Mt. San Jacinto College, aspiring to become a pediatrician. After MSJC, she plans to transfer to a UC to study human biology. Beyond academics, she is an ABA behavior technician, supporting autistic children. She is also the founder of Beary Best Friends, a small business that brings a Build-a-Bear-style experience to children’s parties, creating unforgettable memories for families. Passionate about science and community, Trinity balances her studies, work, and entrepreneurship with determination and care.
