Casey Jurado is the director of Murrieta Market Nights and had nothing but positive and sincere things to say about the event’s contribution to the city of Murrieta. When I asked about the history of the market, Jurado said, “Our Main Street Murrieta location offers an external experience in a quaint historic location on the old Highway 395, which has run for over a century from Oregon to Mexico.” Jurado added, “These markets bring back a human connectedness, an opportunity to see, hear, and touch our family, friends, and community in a real human way, sharing in the celebration of gathering.” Seeing a community of people so compassionately benefiting and contributing to a historical area is truly exciting. Jurado explained Murrieta Market Nights is a street market in the truest sense, with its identity and purpose revolving around the people and what they like- from their entertainment and food to their music and goods. Jurado also commented on the opportunity for new vendors to join their organization, explaining, “We welcome new vendors! We also are creating a non/profit community area specific to support local non-profit organizations. We welcome new vendors! Murrieta Market Nights is a 5013c non-profit organization that has provided experience for over four years. The main success is our community. That’s the success of this community market.”
I talked to some residents in Murrieta who have been to Murrieta Market nights, and they all responded positively. One resident explained, “The environment is very calm. The food, the walkthrough, and set up is so refreshing, and I look forward to attending more in the summer when I’m back from college”. Another resident who always attends explained, “My favorite part has to be the vendors. What they sell and provide is just amazing. Specifically, the Art Gift Gallery alludes to an aura that brings people in. All the vendors are amazing, though, and the prices are very affordable”. Seeing people’s positive feedback on their community and events is wonderful. It is highly encouraged and recommended that people attend, at least if they are in the area.
A huge thanks and credit to Casey Jurado, their management team, Connie McConnell, Casey Jurado, Pamela Hosey, Emily Jurado, and all the support staff for taking the time to welcome the public in a kind and honest way. Their impact on Murrieta Old Town will only carry a tradition set to continue growing and exceeding expectations for years to come.
