Mt. San Jacinto College is celebrating Pride Month this October. The month is filled with activities, workshops, and the fifth annual Drag Show. The festivities began on Oct. 2 with a Pride Kick-Off starting at 9 a.m. in the Temecula Valley Campus with cupcakes, at 11 a.m. in the Menifee Valley Campus with Dippin’ Dots, and at 4 p.m. at the San Jacinto Campus with a pre-drag show dinner with a taco truck available for all attendees.
This year marks the fourth annual Pride event directed by LGBTQIA+ Advisory Chair, Ryan Sullivan. The LGBTQIA+ Advisory centers MSJC’s LGBTQ+ community which encompasses both faculty and students, but all are welcome to be supportive allies and join the group in planning pride events and looking over the inclusivity in MSJC’s policies and procedures, such as providing accessible gender-neutral bathrooms. If you missed the Pride Kick-Off and Drag Show, you are still able to participate and attend events such as:
Documenting LGBTQIA+ and Latinx History Workshop at SJC Monday, Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in the San Jacinto Campus-Rm.1614
Screening of the film “Unidad: Gay and Lesbian Latinos Unidos” and a discussion with the filmmakers on Monday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. at the San Jacinto Campus Theater-Bldg. 1500
