Who is she? The one that dances under the sun?

The one that provides the very air we breathe?

With the long strands of emerald hair and dark skin

The one that lifts the leaves off the ground into the air

Who dances long throughout the cold nights and swiftly during the warm ones

Who is she? The one that sacrifices herself for others? 

With the burns and cuts of her enemies 

To give life to those who repeatedly take away 

The one who continues to fight not only for herself, but for everything

With her spirit being the only reason the world stays spinning

Who is she? 

The only one who comes back new and vibrant, year after year, fighting

Watching her friends be taken down by the very people she gives life to

Who is she? The one that is damaged but dances under the sun?

The one we take for granted

She’s a mother
