Remembrance
Fainted pink blooms sprout from the ground,
Obfuscated by azure blue’s kiss in maturity,
Reinvigorated and
Growing taller and taller, they whisper, Forget me not.
Evangelistically, sowing their seed and mothering
The next generation of blooming blue buds. And then
Megalomania reigns—the indomitable human soul conquers, and devours what is not theirs.
Everything in its path destroyed; an industrial age arrives.
Nothing else remains but the desecrated land
On which the little flower used to live.
To eternity, as gusts of wind take its petals away, it still whispers like a prayer:
Forget me not. Forget me not. Forget me not.
